Under the supervision of the Plant Manager, performs advanced, complex, and critical corrective and preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment, buildings and grounds, and integrates special project work with regular work schedules. This is an advanced level maintenance position and repair classification that provides direction and monitors the work progress of the company’s maintenance department technicians.
Job Duties:
- Attends and leads training and safety sessions as assigned.
- Provides technical assistance and trains staff in job specific and safe work procedures.
- Possess advanced time management skills, be self-motivated, and highly organized
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from staff, managers, and vendors.
- Some overtime may be required, including working over company closures and weekends.
- Hands-on experience with PLC-controlled equipment and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), including troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance.
- strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Welding experience.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Directs the work of subordinate staff on a project or day-to-day basis.
- Troubleshoots complex equipment problems, and recommends time, equipment, and materials required to effect repairs; makes emergency repairs as required.
- Inspects, evaluates, and repairs a variety of complex and critical stationery and mobile mechanical equipment, electrical and electro-mechanical equipment, and facilities.
- Monitors operational details and performs or oversees maintenance work in conformance to technical requirements, and department standard.
- Develops, reviews, and archives maintenance and repair operating procedures.
- Maintains accurate records and files electronically and/or in hard copy as required of job plans, work performed, and materials and supplies used.
- Regularly reviews critical equipment records to ensure asset condition, updates and repair planning.
- Repairs, overhauls or replaces malfunctioning, damaged equipment or worn parts.
- Cleans, services, and painting equipment, machinery, vehicles, structures, buildings, pipelines, storage tanks, and other assets.
- Designs equipment installations and modifications; makes required mathematical calculations; prepares schematics and diagrams for documenting installations; determines supplies and materials required.
- Perform and oversees Lockout Tag-out (LOTO) work.
- 10+ years Maintenance and Repair within Manufacturing environment
- 2 years or more Supervisor (Leadership) Experience
