job summary: An Electrical Engineer is needed for a company that manufactures and sells marking, tracking and computer printing technologies in the Lincolnshire, IL area. This Electrical Engineer maintains and enhances existing printer product lines by troubleshooting electrical issues, implementing design improvements, managing engineering changes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure product reliability and compliance. location: Lincolnshire, Illinois job type: Contract salary: $38.00 - 47.07 per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Investigates and resolves electrical issues in existing products, analyzing root causes, and implementing corrective actions.Recommends and implements design enhancements for circuits and PCBs to improve product reliability, cost-efficiency, and manufacturability.Prepares and processes engineering change orders (ECOs) and maintains product documentation, including schematics and Bills of Materials (BOMs).Works closely with various teams like mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and quality to resolve technical issues and participate in continuous improvement efforts.Develops and executes test protocols, performs electrical analysis on failed products, and provides detailed reports with solutions.Collaborates with suppliers to resolve quality or obsolescence issues with electrical components.Ensures products meet industry standards and assists with documentation and testing for agency certifications. Skills: Working knowledge with PCB CAD tools.Working knowledge of schematics design, circuit analysis, and electrical documentation standards.Experience creating and processing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Bills of Materials (BOMs), and design documentation.Ability to troubleshoot circuit and system-level electrical failures and implement CAPA.Familiarity with root cause analysis tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, or FMEA.strong written and verbal communication skills.Able to collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineering, manufacturing, quality, and procurement.Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).Experience using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems (e.g., Windchill, Arena, Agile).
