job summary: An EHS Specialist is needed in the Clark, NJ area for one of the world's largest cosmetics company, with activities spanning skin care, sun protection, make-up, perfume, hair care and hair color. This role blends technical environmental compliance (air, waste, and permits) with advanced data analytics to track safety metrics and drive continuous improvement across industrial operations. location: Clark, New Jersey job type: Contract salary: $30.12 - 37.65 per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Supporting site-wide EHS programs with a heavy focus on data analytics, regulatory compliance, and environmental permitting.Maintaining and analyzing EHS data for leading and lagging indicators like incidents, near misses, and chemical metrics.Developing and managing Excel-based dashboards, pivot tables, and trend analyses to support executive decision-making.Ensuring data integrity and standardization of EHS metrics across the facility.Managing environmental programs including air permits, emissions tracking, and recordkeeping.Coordinating hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, including manifests and vendor relations.Maintaining EHS documentation, procedures, and work instructions in alignment with OSHA and EPA regulations.Conducting compliance audits and inspections while tracking corrective actions to closure.Developing and delivering EHS training materials and onboarding presentations.Tracking site-wide training completion rates and reporting gaps to leadership. Skills: strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, charts, and basic formulas) and PowerPoint.Experience working with EHS data, metrics, and/or reporting tools (e.g., incident management systems, learning management systems, or environmental tracking tools).Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental regulations (air permits, waste management, wastewater, stormwater, etc.).Ability to research and interpret EHS regulations, guidance documents, and standards, and translate them into practical site actions.strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create clear, visually effective presentations and reports.EHS Certified Professional designations (i.e., ASP, CSP, CIH, CHMM, etc)(preferred).Project management skills.
